An industrial tradition
As you would expect from a University which sits at the heart of the West Midlands we have a strong tradition of working with industry and commerce, in core sectors, such as manufacturing engineering, rail, automotive, medical technology, food technology and aerospace. This is a tradition which stems back to the University’s formation over 100 years ago.
Today our interactions with industry and commerce are also complemented by a close relationship with charities, government departments and the wider public sector.
What drives the engagement with all of our partners is the pursuit of breakthrough research which impacts on key national and global challenges, such as cancer, obesity, climate change and social and political conflict.
