Learning will be delivered in a variety of formats.
The Inflammation Research module will be delivered by recorded lectures on topics in inflammation followed by 2 tutorials per lecture with the presenting lecturer and course organiser.
Research Skills is a continuing module where you receive lectures and demonstrations on state-of-the-art techniques used in inflammation research.
The Research Paper Analysis module involves each student presenting a paper chosen by the module coordinator and read by the group. A discussion, led by the module coordinator, with input from the students, will critically analyse the methodology, results and conclusions of the presented paper.
Two 18 week laboratory projects, chosen by you from an extensive list, provides you with extensive bench experience. You will present data and take part in laboratory meetings in your chosen group to increase your presentation and analysis skills. At the end the first project you will present your findings as a group to project supervisors and the course coordinator. After the second project you will prepare a poster which will be presented to the same group.
