Introduction

This module concentrates on the theoretical concepts, which underpin course management. Students will focus on the role of course management in the implementation of strategy as well as practical perspectives on the management of courses and projects.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the module students should be able to:

  • Explain the principles of course management and the range of models and techniques that are used in this context
  • Analyse the strengths and limitations of different strategies for course management and their suitability for different types of courses e.g. complex inter-agency and partnership-based projects or single agency or single service projects
  • Apply the necessary skills to enable the successful management of courses and projects from design through implementation, monitoring and evaluation
