Dr Cristina Ivanovici, who studied for her PhD in American and Candian Studies, has been awarded a three-month postdoctoral fellowship by the International Council for Canadian Studies for spring/summer 2012. The postdoctoral fellowship, to be held at McMaster University under the supervision of Professor Lorraine York, will enable Cristina to undertake some archival work and writing that will expand her doctoral study of the producation, circulation and reception of Margaret Atwood's utopian novels in Central Europe to other well-known Canadian writers.

The title of her project is: 'Translating Cultural Power: A Study of Publishing Contemporary English-Canadian Women Writers in Eastern European Contexts'
