City Sites is an inter- and multi-disciplinary study of the iconography, spatial forms and visual and literary cultures of New York and Chicago in the period 1870 to 1939..

City Sites is the result of collaborative research by scholars from Europe and the USA and presents a pioneering approach to American urbanism utilising analytical possibilities offered by new multimedia technologies.

City Sites is the primary research outcome of the 3 Cities research project, it is edited by Dr Maria Balshaw, Dr Liam Kennedy, Professor Douglas Tallack and Dr Anna Notaro. It was published by the University of Birmingham Press in 2000.
