MidEx aims to help organisations that ask us for our well grounded guidance, advice and recommendations for organisational and operational improvements. For the benefit of organisations in the Midlands and beyond, new research is translated into practical application that can significantly improve quality, productivity and efficiency.
This conversion of research into practice requires the bridging of the two worlds or academia and 'real world' practice. The combination of applied research projects and briefing sessions provided by the MidEx Programme offers the opportunity to feed insights and contributions from leading edge research conducted at the University to local organisations, enabling them to benefit first from our work.
By working closely with individual organisations, we will embed sustainable solutions. To translate effectively and disseminate the research we offer to West Midlands organisations:
An opportunity for individuals and organisations within the Investors in Excellence community, and others, to benefit from MBA and MSc funded student consultancy, that would include a student stipend, to implement change within the partner organisation.
Biannual briefing and seminar meetings for local partners and participants on emergent themes of research and application.
Open lectures given by prominent practitioners and academics in the field.
Ongoing engagement of doctoral researchers within participating organisations, including feedback and benchmarking against best practice.
Publication of high quality conference papers and peer reviewed academic journal articles in top international journals.
Social media activities related to and supporting the above activities.
Publicity, media coverage and commentary on issues in the news.
