DTC Project - Novel SOFC Electrode Materials
Tom graduated in 2009 from the University of Birmingham with a BSc (hons) in chemistry, studying in detail electrolytes for Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFCs). He joined the Fuel Cell group in August 2009, working within the DTC. Tom’s main area of research will be into the chemistry of materials used in the electrodes of SOFCs, working from initial fabrication through to incorporating them within a working cell. Also investigated will be ways to overcome common problems such as carbon deposition and sulphur poisoning which affect current popular formulations for SOFC electrodes.
