Speaker: Dr Johan de Joode

Venue: Room 228 (Sinclair Room), Arts Building

CLiC is a corpus web app that is specifically designed for the study of literary texts. In this session, we focus in particular on CLiC’s concordance and keyword functions. With practical hands-on exercises we show how CLiC can be used to support research into literary texts in general, and speech representation in particular. We investigate methods of comparing corpora intratextually. We focus in particular on novels by Charles Dickens, but also include exercises for other 19th century fiction.

For more information visit the CLiC project website.

If you wish to attend any or all of the sessions below then please email Michelle Devereux m.c.m.devereux@bham.ac.uk to reserve a place. Spaces are very limited and will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis.
