Imaging sciences

This section presents examples of new imaging technologies and analytical tools being developed at Birmingham.

These include new nano-scale microscopes for material- and bio-sciences; micro-MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) for live observation of chemical reactions; the design of new fluorescent dyes and markers for biosciences and medicine; the analysis of flow and mixing of gases, liquids and powders using Positron Emission Tomography; and the non-destructive testing of surfaces of materials and biological tissues using hyperspectral imaging and image analysis.
