Seventh symposium: Making of Modernity

The Birmingham Centre for the Study of Cultural Modernity, based in the College of Arts and Law, is an interdisciplinary hub for research into the textual, artistic and cultural formation of the ‘modern’ self and society that resulted from a process of rapid industrialisation over the second half of the nineteenth century and the first half of the twentieth. These seminars explore this process.
