MLitt awarded to 84 year old student

Marion Roberts has been awarded a MLitt degree by the University of Birmingham at the age of 84, for her thesis: ‘Close Encounters: Anna Seward, 1742-1809, A Woman in Provincial Cultural Life’. Marion is a former nurse, journalist and teacher of creative writing. She served as Chairman of the contemporary Lunar Society and received the Lord Mayor of Birmingham's Award in 2010 for services to local life. She is now writing a book about Anna Seward.
