Close Encounters: Anna Seward, 1742-1809, a woman in provincial cultural life
I began part-time research for a MLitt on Anna Seward, 1742-1809, the Lichfield poet, five years ago.
I had already done much of my own, but in an unstructured way, now, under the care of my supervisors, one of which was Dr. Malcolm Dick, I was able to do deeper work in a more disciplined way. He encouraged and helped to further my research with his recommendations and was always available to listen and reply to any queries I had. He also provided the initial facility for me to speak to various groups, both within the academic world and beyond and his dedication - that ability to go the 'extra mile', has now resulted in the award of my Master of Letters (MLitt.) degree!
