CREES academic presents at the International Education Conference 'Going Global 2012'

Description
On 14 March 2012 Dr Galina Yemelianova presented results of her ongoing British Council-funded project 'Innovative Teaching and Research through Academic Partnership', (2010-2013) between the University of Birmingham (UoB) and the Kazakh-British Technical University (KBTU), Kazakhstan, at the International Education Conference 'Going Global 2012, The Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre, London.

Report on INSPIRE Strategic Partnerships Project

Description
Within the British Council INSPIRE project on Strategic Partnership between the University of Birmingham (UK) and the Kazakh-British Technical University Dr Svetlana Zhanabayeva visited the UoB between 19 and 30 March 2011. The main purpose of the visit was the final round of training of the UK PG students in the Kazakh language. Classes were held during two weeks three sessions per week.

Autumn report on Dr Zhanabayeva's visit to the UK

On 20-22 September 2011 Dr Svetlana Zhanabayeva participated in the work of the XII ESCAS (The European Society for Central Asian Studies) Biennial Conference at the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom "Central Asia: a maturing field". The conference took place at Churchill College, the University of Cambridge.

Kazakhstani team visits the University of Birmingham.

On Saturday 16 October 2010 a group of MSc and PhD students from KBTU headed by the Kazakhstani project leader Dr. Svetlana Zhanabayeva visited University of Birmingham.

Lena Milosevic, Director of the British Council in Kazakhstan, visits the University of Birmingham.

Description
On June 15, 2010 Ms Lena Milosevic, Director of the British Council in Kazakhstan, visited the UoB and delivered an excellent talk entitled 'Kazakhstan: Big Country, Big Story' to an audience of staff and students of the University of Birmingham which raised their awareness about opportunities for academic collaboration between the UK and Kazakhstan.

Dr Yemelianova visits the Kazakh-British Technical University (KBTU)

Description
In May 2010, during Dr Yemelianova's visit to the KBTU, Professor Zhanabayeva and Dr Yemelianova had a series of talks with Professor Zoya Tuyebakhova, the KBTU's PVC responsible for teaching programmes, Professor Saltanat Amirgaliyeva, the KBTU Dean of the Academy (PhD programme); Professor David Lal, the KBTU Dean of Master Programmes and Ms Yuliya Kharkova, the KBTU's Director of External Affairs Department.
