Workshop Leader: Professor Kim Shapiro

Neuroscience

This workshop will bring together academics from across the University of Birmingham campus to discuss ways of increasing student recruitment and research income in neuroscience.

The aim is to create an undergraduate and postgraduate programme using existing university staff and facilities, allowing prospective students to build their own interdisciplinary programme of study around neuroscience. This new degree will show a major, e.g., cognitive neuroscience, but with a specialism, e.g., computer science.

The second stage of the meeting will focus on creating a Neuroscience Collaborative Infrastructure, building research groups centred around research funding priorities, e.g., health, ageing, robotics, dementia, resilience.
