Workshop Leaders: Dr Jonathan Fisher(IDD)

This workshop represents the culmination of an IAS-funded project (under the Saving Humans theme) looking at the relationship between information-gathering, policy-making and ‘local agency’ in fragile and conflict-affected regions and states. Fieldwork and network-building in relation to this project was carried-out between November 2013-July 2014 in the UK, US, Ethiopia, Kenya and Sweden with paper drafts presented on 3 occasions.

The workshop will bring this group together to share insights on how they – and others working in this field – overcome the challenges presented by insecurity and poor infrastructure to gather data on and in conflict-affected regions.
