In September 2011 Birmingham PhD student and postgraduate teaching assistant Luke Butler presented a paper at the 4th European Procurement Law Series (EPLS) Meeting in Cluj Napoca (Romania).
The meeting will lead to an edited collection on public procurement outside the field of application of the EU procurement Directives to be published by Djoef Publishing in Copenhagen in 2012.
Luke presented a paper on procurement outside the scope of the Directives and UK Regulations in the United Kingdom which will lead to a chapter in the book. The next meeting of the EPLS will be held in Aosta (Italy) in 2012. Luke Butler is working on a thesis on barriers to Transatlantic defence procurement under the supervision of Professor Martin Trybus - who also attended the meeting in Cluj.
