Patient Reported Outcomes

Description
Patient reported outcomes (PROs) are measures reported directly by the patient, which provide "the patient voice" in clinical trials investigating evidence of treatment effectiveness. The aim of the PRO Research Group is to develop best practice for PRO use in trials, to improve the quality of PRO information collected, so that clinical care for patients may be better informed.

PD COMM Pilot Study

Description
The PD COMM Pilot study is a multi centre clinical trial pilot ran by Birmingham Clinical Trials Unit and sponsored by the University of Birmingham. Its aim is to evaluate the feasibility of a full scale trial on the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of two types of speech and language therapy for people with Parkinson's disease who have self reported problems with voice or speech – standard NHS therapy and Lee Silverman Voice Training.
