Vacancy for a Research Fellow on the Pauline Commentaries Project
A postdoctoral research fellow is being sought to work on the COMPAUL project at the University of Birmingham, investigating the earliest commentaries on the Pauline Letters as sources for the biblical text.
The research fellow will join an established team led by Dr Hugh Houghton based at ITSEE in the University of Birmingham. He or she will examine early Greek commentaries on the Pauline Letters and create a database of biblical quotations.
Candidates should have a doctoral degree (or be close to completion of one) in a relevant subject, expertise in classical or biblical Greek, an interest in the New Testament and the field of early Christianity, and excellent computer skills including ideally experience of working with electronic and online corpora. The post is full-time and fixed-term, initially for 12 months, with the possibility of extension.
