Neurological Conditions

The Neurological conditions team is undertaking three trials which overlap between the cardiovascular, behavioural and chronic diseases teams. The OTCH trial is a Phase III RCT to evaluate the effects of a targeted course of occupational therapy (with provision of adaptive equipment, minor environmental adaptations and staff education) for people with stroke living in a care home. We also have PDREHAB (HTA) trial of community OT and PT for PD, a systematic review of physiotherapy for PD (PDUK), RESULT a mixed methods study looking at the epidemiology and health needs of people with rare neurological diseases, LIFE a RCT of leisure centre based exercise for people with neurological disease (both funded by the NSFLTNC) and an RCT of constraint therapy for preschool children with cerebral palsy (WMSHA).
