ELSIPS - Evaluation of Lay Support in Pregnant Women with Social Risk

ELSIPS is a trial evaluating whether or not the Pregnancy Outreach Worker (POW) service improves the health of mothers and babies identified as being at increased risk.

Trial Summary

POWs are support workers who work alongside the midwife and provide individual case management, including home visiting for women with social need. They are intended to maximise engagement with services and to improve women’s self efficacy and provide social support for issues such as housing, benefit, and domestic violence and are intended to support existing care pathways.
