Male student using milling machineThe Quality Research Group is part of the Manufacturing Processes, Technology & Modelling research centre  based in the School of Mechanical Engineering.

The objective of this group is the study of quality and process improvement methodologies and their application in different industries, in particular the manufacturing sector.

The Quality Research Group has been active since 1987, and has maintained strong industrial links. The companies with which we have collaborated include Northern Telecom (Nortel), Jacobs Biscuits (United Biscuits), Jaguar cars, Anderson Consultants (Accenture), Peterson Springs, Land Rover cars, Du Pont Nylon, Lucchini Group. In Japan, companies such as Nissan Kyushu, Honda Kumamoto, Toyota Nagoya, Sony Tokyo, Tokyo Electronics, have also been an integral part of our research.
