At the Institute of Microbiology and Infection (IMI), we recognize the importance of attracting and nurturing talented researchers who are able to translate ideas into reality. The IMI Future Fellows Symposium aims to facilitate discussion of excellent science and identify emerging research talent.
Applications for the IMI Future Fellows Symposium are now closed.
IMI Future Fellows Symposium dates: Monday 11th & Tuesday 12th September 2017
What the IMI can offer
- The largest group of microbiologists in Europe
- A globally integrated and collegiate environment
- Broad research strengths
- >200 postdoctoral fellows and postgraduate students
- A dynamic community of early career fellows
- Support from 4 doctoral training programmes
- An 70% success rate in fellowship applications to major funders
- Access to the prestigious Birmingham Fellows scheme
- A range of vibrant social and scientific activities
It is anticipated that many participants will either hold, or wish to apply for, independent research fellowships with the IMI as their host institution. This event is held annually over 2 days and provides participants with opportunities to discuss and develop their ideas with existing IMI academics as well as to hear about expertise available to support fellowship applications. If you are an enthusiastic researcher with an interest in microbiology and infection please apply now to take part in our next IMI Future Fellows Symposium.
This year, the symposium will be held on 11th-12th September 2017 to coincide with the 5th Molecular Microbiology & 4th Midlands Molecular Microbiology Meeting (M4) also being held in Birmingham.
