Welfare Futures Research Group

The Welfare Futures Research Group meets to discuss a diverse range of topics which fall under the general theme of 'welfare'. It engages in debates and discussion about the future development of welfare service provision exploring issues from citizen engagement and participation, to advances in welfare ideology.

Current and ongoing research covers a broad range of themes, including attitudes towards the welfare state, social democratic and welfare theory, localism, the mixed economy of welfare provision, as well as debates about the nature of social policy as a subject and as a government activity.
