Conceptualizing multilingualism under globalization: membership claims, social categories and emblems of authenticity

Funds have been awarded from the British Association of Applied Linguistics (BAAL) to host a two-day research seminar which will be held on 11-12 June 2013. Financial support is provided by Cambridge University Press to host this joint event by the MOSAIC Centre for Research on Multilingualism and the Institute for Research into Superdiversity (IRiS).

This two-day seminar is entitled 'Conceptualizing multilingualism under globalization: membership claims, social categories and emblems of authenticity'. It will include presentations from colleagues from the Universities of Birmingham, Illinois at Urbana Champaign, Kings College London and Sheffield, and will attract national and international interest.

The event is scheduled for 11 and 12 June 2013.
