The final years of the Great War saw a radical change in the conduct of warfare. This Day School will examine how well the lessons of the Western Front were learnt over the next twenty years. It will begin by examining how both the Germans and the Allies fought in 1918, before considering some of the interwar visions of the next conflict, finally examining the Fall of France in 1940 to see how lessons were put into practice
