Game to Name

“You don’t need to know the concepts of modern Game Theory to name a baby, let alone the Royal baby, arguably the most important name for the rest of this century. It is a personal, family matter of choice, surely not a game! Well, wait, think twice. The theory of games may indeed play a role here.”

Yes, I can see the intricacy of the name selection process. But I wonder about the delay in the naming. Once the pregnancy was confirmed, they have had approx. 8 months to sort it out, which seems like plenty of time. Is this common for a royal birth? What are the implications for the delay?

It just occurred to me that perhaps they wait until the baptism to formally announce the royal baby's name, accounting for the delay, or some other royal ceremonial protocol. (I'm American, what can I say)
