We will then put you in direct contact with the organiser of your chosen activity, so that the appropriate arrangments can be made.

Can we visit your lab?

Description
A year 12 BTEC class would like to visit a lab so they can see science in action. For their assignment they need to report on how scientists communicate with one another and how to design specialist research labs. The trip does not need to be long and a tour of only one lab will be sufficient.

Inspire to Achieve Light Hall School

Description
The school are looking for inspirational role models to motivate young people to think about their careers and options beyond school. This event is aimed at Year 8 and 9 pupils who will be choosing their GCSE options. The guest speaker can deliver a workshop, interactive talk, role play, or anything they wish to grab the pupils' attention. The sessions are one hour long.

Mock Interviews Bartley Green School

Description
The school are running a mock interview session for their year 11s. The students will be given a wide choice of job specifications to choose from and will then complete an application form, followed by an interview. You will be given a list of questions but you can ask your own. You will also be provided with an interview performance check list to give feedback on. The school are particularly looking for those with a medical or engineering background.

The school are looking for ambassadors to help with their careers information evening for their year 11 and 12 students and parents. When run in previous years, it has been successful and received positive feedback from students. Refreshments will be provided.

Guess my Job Archbishop Ilsley Catholic School

Description
Small groups will be rotated around and will attempt to guess your job by asking questions (which will be provided), in which you answer either 'yes' or 'no'. After a length of time, you can tell the pupils what you do, even if they haven't guessed correctly. The remaining time can be spent explaining the role.

The school are looking for an ambassador to give a 15 minute careers talk/presentation about how you got into your career, qualifications required, etc as well as the company you now work for and your future.

Career speed networking St Edmund Campion

The school are running a careers speed dating session for their female students. Ambassadors will talk about their job with the students and the groups will rotate. The school has requested for ambassadors to bring a description of what their job entails and something like props or photos as well as information about the skills and qualifications needed. If ambassadors wish to being a powerpoint, the school can lend laptops for them to show it on.

Big Bang Fair Volunteers needed

Description
The Big Bang Fair is coming back to Birmingham! If you haven't heard of the Big Bang Fair, it is an exhibition over 4 days of STEM and how to get into STEM careers. Many organisations take part such as Rolls Royce, ICE, Royal Society of Chemistry, local universities, Bloodhound, Vex Robotics – pretty much anyone you can think of to do with STEM.
