Practical resources for parents and carers

As part of our commitment to the Athena Swan charter, we provide the following practical resources for staff and student parents and carers.

Equality and diversity

Childcare

Nursery and childcare facilities within the University:

Nursery fees can be taken from pay before tax via salary sacrifice: contact Pam Todd (p.todd@bham.ac.uk) for details

Guild of students

Volunteering activities that the students run include:

Selly Oak Play Scheme (SOPS)

SOPS meet in The Underground in the Guild every Sunday morning, and offer activities to the children in the local community, promoting good relationships between the University and people from the local area. All the children are between 7 and 11 years old.
