'Novel restoration materials for clean-up of radionuclides in the environment' - A collaborative £350,000 EPSRC research grant between the University of Birmingham, Advanced Science Research Centre, Japanese Atomic Energy Agency, Kyushu University, and the College of Engineering at Shibaura Institute of Technology.

Screening of documentary film 'Resistance' followed by debate on antimicrobial resistance

On the evening of Monday 9 March the University of Birmingham will be screening a film about antibiotic resistance followed by a debate around antimicrobial resistance. The event will be jointly hosted by the University of Birmingham, the British Science Association and Antibiotic Action on behalf of the British Society for Antimicrobial Chemotherapy.

'Brummie' water fleas prepared for their trip to space

Local 'Daphnia' waterfleas are currently being prepared by scientists at the University of Birmingham for their trip to the International Space Station (ISS), where they will be observed by astronauts.
