My career

I was working in the foodstuff industry before I embarked on my MBA.  I decided to continue in the same industry after the completion of my degree as I wanted to bring my education and experience to my area of expertise. By doing my MBA, I acquired the professional skills and knowledge, as well as developing my personal skills, to be the best. To succeed, one must be distinguished in every area of industry; completing the Birmingham MBA accomplished this.

Why Birmingham Business School?

The global reputation of the University of Birmingham was what initially attracted me to the university but there is so much more on offer than just its academic strength. The beautiful campus and the diverse culture of students made my experience of studying abroad extremely memorable and the teaching environment even more pleasurable.

Obtaining an MBA provided me with a versatile and wide array of business skills that enabled me to assess the global marketing environment including producing strategic plans and evaluating global markets. As a result of the MBA, I now have a more fulfilled life as I am gradually achieving both my long and short-term goals.

Challenges

Deadlines for essays and group work were very tight but academics taught us how to develop our time management skills to ensure we met these. Working in a group with peers who were from different backgrounds, ideas and cultures could sometimes be challenging as opinions differed but we overcame these as a group. This helped me to enhance my communication skills and international relationship management.

The Birmingham experience

Being surrounded by different students with different backgrounds and from such diverse cultures are the fondest memories I have of studying at Birmingham Business School. Moreover, the various trips and events made my experience thoroughly enjoyable. I also had access to excellent academic facilities such as online resources, making learning limitless.

Having the opportunity to study abroad taught me social skills which are now helpful in both my private and social life; the MBA is a marvellous opportunity to establish and develop networks while sharing knowledge with peers.
