Professional Development Module: flexible short-term student placements

The Professional Development module allows for finalists to undertake a short professional assignment for an employer for a minimum of 40 hours, either in a full-time capacity during the summer vacation, or part-time during term-time.

This initiative has been designed to help bridge the gap between academic study and our students’ future professional life post-graduation.

It provides companies the opportunity to assign activities to an undergraduate student and to benefit from the research and analytical skills that they possess. Our dedicated Professional Development Team will work with you to tailor the placement to meet both your business need and our students’ work experience interests.

Typical placements include:

  • Research into the most effective ways for an organisation to market its services to potential partner organisations
  • Research into the impact of public policy into a specific industry sector
  • Research project into the most effective use of social media for an organisation
