Elite Doctoral Researcher Scholarships 2012 - 2013
The University Graduate School is pleased to announce that it has ten Elite Doctoral Researcher Scholarships available for the 2012-2013 academic year.

As a research student at Birmingham Business School you'll be working with internationally recognised academics, become fully involved with research topics and contribute to debate across the whole school.

Midlands Graduate School

The Midlands Graduate School is a collaborative venture between the University of Birmingham, the University of Nottingham ESRC Doctoral Training Centre and the Warwick Social Sciences Doctoral Training Centre, to provide dedicated facilities, resources and support to postgraduate students and early career researchers.

Doctoral Training Centre (DTC)

The University of Birmingham Doctoral Training Centre is one of 21 across the UK that has been accredited by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC).

The central function of the ESRC DTC at the University of Birmingham is to allocate 14 or more ESRC studentships for PhD study each year for 2011-2015. This is achieved following a competition that involves a wide range of social sciences from across the whole university. In addition the DTC is involved in helping to open up advanced training courses in research methods, and in overseeing collaborations between doctoral researchers and outside bodies.

Doctoral Training Programme

The College of Social Sciences welcomes all doctoral researchers to the Doctoral Training programme which continues to enjoy full research training recognition by the ESRC. This programme aims to provide students with a sound background in social research design and the most up-to-date training in methods of data collection and analysis.
