On 29th January 2013, University of Birmingham welcomed David Smith, Economics Editor of The Sunday Times, to Birmingham Business School to give a guest lecture entitled “An age of instability: The crisis and the changing shape of the world economy”.
Before his current position as Economics editor of The Sunday Times, David had previously held the position of Economics/Business Writer for Now! magazine, Economics/Deputy Editor for Financial Weekly and the Economics Correspondent for The Times. As well as being The Sunday Times Economics Editor, his role has expanded to Policy Advisor and Assistant Editor.
We caught up with David to find out about his lecture and why he thinks guest lectures are important for the student experience.
You can read more from David at his own website which delivers economic commentary in blog style at EconomicsUK.com.
