University of Birmingham to facilitate academic cooperation with Rio de Janeiro
Professor Robert Elliot is the College of Social Sciences (CoSS) contact for a new venture which will see academics from the University of Birmingham and the University of Nottingham working with a Research Foundation in Rio de Janeiro (Fundação Carlos Chagas Filho de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (FAPERJ)) to facilitate academic cooperation.
The first initiative under this cooperative agreement is to help cross-continent research collaborations in the sciences, social sciences and humanities.
Academics from the institutions involved will be submitting research proposals for a range of activities including facilitating original research and workshop events, with the ultimate purpose being to develop a collaboration that has the potential further support joint activity between the participants in Brazil and the UK.
