Professor Simon Collinson, Dean of Birmingham Business School, was one of two speakers at a recent Industry and Parliamentary Trust (IPT) dinner in the House of Lords on “The Role of Government in Developing Trade with China”.
On 28th January he outlined the challenges for UK business and government to grow exports to China alongside Crispin Simon, the Chief Executive of UK Trade and Investment (UKTI). As outlined in the accompanying ‘Birmingham Brief’ (details below), despite the huge opportunities for foreign firms in China’s domestic market, Britain’s track record of exports to China is very weak.
