Catherine's research and teaching interests lie in the field of business history and economic history, which she studied in a long-run comparative perspective. She is currently conducted research into three topics: the history of entrepreneurship; reputation and economic performance in English towns and property rents and prices from the medieval to the modern period and studies these topics using qualitative and quantitative methods.
Dr Casson joined the Business School in 2013 from concurrent positions as a Research Fellow at the Winton Institute for Monetary History, Ashmolean Museum, University of Oxford and as a Teaching Fellow in the School of History and Cultures, University of Birmingham.
