During Induction Week students from the MSc Marketing Communications and MSc Marketing Strategy and Consulting programmes pitched their business-to business communications strategy to industry experts in the hope of having their campaign selected as the winner and implemented by the agency.
Anthony Tattum,Managing Director of marketing and events agency Big Cat Group (www.bigcatgroup.co.uk) and Guy Dawson, Marketing Account Executive, challenged the students to select a sector and develop a campaign to attract companies to the event, Hello Business. The Hello Business event is focused on informing businesses through seminars how to use digital media effectively. As part of the task the students also had to decide what kind of seminar would be useful to the sector they had chosen.
The students were put into five groups and pitted against each other to win a prize of £300.
Dr Sheena Leek, MSc Programme Director said, “It’s great to have Big Cat come in and set them a challenging, real life task with the potential that it might actually be used by the company. The students have come up with some really interesting ideas and I think it’s effectively introduced them to what they will be studying in the coming year.”
