Professor Isabelle Szmigin featured on BBC WM Breakfast radio this morning discussing online shopping and how today is expected to be the busiest shopping day.
In what has been dubbed Cyber Monday, retailers hope that consumers will today take advantage of a flurry of sales and discounts but there are further influences that contribute to today and what is expected to be the busiest online shopping day in history.
Isabelle comments that there are a number of factors that will play a part in this; consumers having recently received their pay, ensuring items are delivered in time for Christmas, as well as the fact that with all the press surrounding today being the expected busiest shopping day, it can become “a bit of a self-fulfilling prophecy.”
The interview is currently available to listen to on the BBC WM website (feature starts at 06.20, Professor Szmigin features from 06:50) for a limited time.
