Posted on Friday 23rd May 2014

Professor Isabelle Szmigin recently featured on the BBC Radio 4 Today programme, discussing the topic of innovations by Ebay and Paypal that are looking to link in internet searches with local businesses.

The people behind the technology claim to be putting the emphasis back on local shops and sellers, hoping to rejuvenate the high street by taking the personalised experiences of the online world into the real world.

Professor Szmigin discusses that one of the problems with this is predicting future consumer behaviour on the basis of past behaviour.

The programme is currently available for a limited time on the BBC iPlayer (feature starts at 1:50:40, Professor Szmigin features from 1:55:02).
