On Thursday 4th July, Birmingham Business School in association with Singapore Institute of Management (SIM) hosted the first overseas Distinguished Leaders lecture. The Singapore series follows the same format as the UK, with high calibre alumni speakers discussing their views and experiences of leadership.
Our first speaker was Stewart McLaren, Director and Chief Operating Officer of the Barclays International Business Centre, Singapore. Stewart focussed on the importance of clear leadership in international location strategy and offered a fascinating insight into the importance and impact of place, people and culture. The event was attended by more than 100 alumni and current MBA students who used the opportunity to build their social and professional networks.
Our aim is to deliver at least one international Distinguished Leaders event per year.
