Profile

Xiaocong Yang completed his BSc degree in 2009. After 1-year working experience in the Office of Civil Air Defense of Huidong, Guangdong province, he came to the UK and started his higher education journey in 2010. During his MSc studies in social sciences in management, he developed an interest in Labor Economics, especially in the aging issue in China. He joined the School of Business in 2012 as a full time PhD student. His supervisor is Dr Carmichael Fiona and co-supervisor is Dr Paul Lewis. For the current study, he will integrate econometrics methods and Labor Economics theories to develop a qualitative as well as quantitative theoretical basis for aging issue (pension and health aspects) in China.
