Research Centres

In addition to the subject group research departments, there are research centres:

Centre for Business Strategy and Procurement (CBSP)

Since its creation in 1993, the CBSP has examined many hundreds of contracts in both the public and private sector. Through this experience, its members have developed a deep appreciation of the fact that there is no ‘magic bullet’, no ‘one size fits all’ strategy that is capable of solving all of an organisation’s problems.

Centre for Corporate Governance Research (CCGR)

The Centre for Corporate Governance research has a wide portfolio of research in the corporate governance area, both in a UK and an international context.

Centre for Research on the Economy and the Workplace (CREW)

CREW aims to promote an understanding of the ways in which businesses and workers interact, impacts on international comparative economic performance and the implications for policy.

Entrepreneurship and Innovation Centre (EIC)

The Business School is home to the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Centre. This is an initiative set up to promote inter-disciplinary research within the University.

Institute for Economic Development Policy (IEDP)

The Institute for Economic Development Policy is a University of Birmingham Research Centre focused on research and research-led learning in the field of economic development policy.

Centre for Healthy Ageing Research

An interdisciplinary research centre,  drawing from  Schools within the College of Social Sciences and the  College of  Medical and Dental Sciences.

The Centre for Leadership at the University of Birmingham (CLUB)

An interdisciplinary research centre of the College of Social Sciences, drawing from the Schools of Business, Education, Government and Society, and Social Policy, as well as the European Research Institute within Political Science.

The Centre on Household Assets and Savings Management (CHASM)

Based jointly in the School of Social Policy and the Birmingham Business School.
