Kelly is a Medical Statistician working at the Birmingham Clinical Trials Unit (BCTU) in the School of Cancer Sciences. She works on clinical trials in the coloproctology portfolio, for example FOxTROT, which is investigating the possible benefits of receiving pre-operative chemotherapy for patients with colon cancer.

Nick Hilken has been the IT Co-ordinator for the Birmingham Clinical Trials Unit (BCTU) programming team since 2002.

The programming team creates and supports bespoke database applications for the trials run by the unit. These are typically SQL Server/ASP.NET systems for large, multi centre/international phase 3 studies.
