Ayman Antoun obtained his PhD and Licenciate in Cell and Molecular Biology from Uppsala University, Sweden in 2003, and his BSc (Hons) in Pharmacy from University of Cairo in 1997.
Ayman is a Research Fellow in the School of Cancer Sciences, College of Medical and Dental Sciences.
Ayman has published research papers in scientific journals as EMBO J. and molecular cell in the fields of Protein synthesis, Stem Cell Transplant and ImmunoGenetics. He is funded by a grant from Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research.
Research Themes
Immunogenetics, Tumour Immunology and Stem Cell Transplant
Research Activity
Role of NKG2D and their ligands in Stem Cell Transplant
The main emphasis of his work has been on the role of NKG2D and its ligands on the clinical outcomes of Stem Cell Transplant. Ayman is involved in establishing a big UK consortium for the study of the role of immunological factors on the clinical outcomes of Stem Cell Transplant such as GvHD, Relapse free Survival and Overall Survival.
