Professor David Thickett

Professor David Thickett

Professor in Respiratory Medicine

David Thickett trained in Oxford and London. He was a specialist registrar in the South West region before doing his DM thesis on ARDS in Bristol. He was initially appointed as a Senior Lecturer in 2001 and then became a Wellcome Intermediate Fellow in 2006. He was appointed as a reader in 2011 and promoted to Chair in Respiratory Medicine in 2014.

Steve Thomas is a British Heart Foundation Research Fellow working with Professor Steve Watson in the Institute of Biomedical Research.

His main research interests centre around the actin cytoskeleton in platelets and megakaryocytes and fluorescence microscopy imaging.

Dr Jeremy Tomlinson is an Honorary Reader in Endocrinology. His research interests are in understanding the role of steroid hormones in the development of obesity, type 2 diabetes and insulin resistance. Alongside his translational research program he works as a consultant endocrinologist at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.
