Eelo is specifically interested in how the platelet receptors glycoprotein (GP) Ibα (the receptor for von Willebrand factor), GPVI (the collagen receptor) and CLEC-2 (the receptor for Podoplanin) are involved in platelet lifespan, arterial thrombus formation, and platelet interaction with immune cells. Currently, Eelo is investigating proteolysis of platelet ITAM receptors and the origin of microparticles in plasma during inflammatory diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis. The focus lies on understanding the molecular mechanisms and clinical relevance of these biological processes.
