Chemical Engineering at the University of Birmingham has climbed to third in the UK in the latest Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2017.

Professor Mark Simmons, Head of School of Chemical Engineering, said ‘This result shows the strength and depth of our activities at Birmingham. We have academic staff who are leading global experts, excellent facilities and strong links with industry to ensure our students receive the very best experience in our academic community’.

The Times league table position follows a strong performance in the National Student Survey 2016 and the Guardian University Guide 2017.

The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide is created using a variety of criteria including student satisfaction, research quality, graduate prospects, entrance qualifications held by new students, degree results achieved, student/staff ratios, service and facilities spend, and university dropout rates.
