Researchers at the University are working on developing ‘smart’ insulin which could drastically reduce injections for patients suffering from type 1 diabetes.  The development of smart capsules which would pass through the body and release insulin when it detects blood sugar levels are high, could dramatically reduce the invasive and time-consuming daily chore.

Articles on the development of this research can be found on the BBC and the Telegraph.
