Birmingham Hosts Budding Brunels

Budding Brunels is organised by the Construction Youth Trust (CYT), a charity working with major construction industry employers at both trade and professional level to support young people from backgrounds currently under-represented in the built environment. CYT delivered a ‘Budding Brunels’ course in The West Midlands on February 11th - 13th 2013 in partnership with Network Rail, working with a group of 30 Year 12  students over the course of 3 days. Consisting of

  • Open College Network accredited workshop to strengthen UCAS applications / future employability, at no cost to colleges or students
  • Professional careers in Engineering, Design, Surveying and more built environment roles explored in detail
  • Centred around a site visit to the £600m New Street Gateway development
  • Post-project work placements for at least 5 students who excel during the course
