Changxiang is a Research Fellow at the School of Dentistry in the Institute of Clinical Sciences. His research expertise includes materials science and engineering, biomaterials, and tissue engineering. Currently, Changxiang is working on toothpaste formulations and toothbrush design.

Sarah Waring is currently an Academic Clinical Lecturer in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology. She started her specialty training in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology at Birmingham in April 2015 and has an interest in oral cancer.

Apart from her clinical work, she undertakes research in the field of oral cancer, currently focusing on digital image analysis and development of prognostic models.
